Kaua‘i Named to U.S. News and World’s List of ‘Best Adventure Vacations’


Anthony Webber. iGTN Editor-At-Large. The island of Kaua‘i earned the No. 3 spot on U.S. News and World Report’s list of “16 Best Adventure Vacations in the USA,” ranking the highest of three Hawaiian islands in the report.

Citing the “Garden Isle’s “acres of misty rainforests, plummeting waterfalls and jagged cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean,” U.S. News and World called Kaua‘i one of the “world’s most spectacular islands.” The list was compiled via feedback from an independent collection of published travel writers and U.S. News Travel website users. Yellowstone and Yosemite ranked No.1 and 2 on the list.

“We are thrilled to see Kaua’i once again earn recognition from such a nationally respected source,” said Sue Kanoho, executive director of the Kaua’i Visitors Bureau. “People are inspired by Kaua‘i’s tropical beauty, serenity and diversity of activities available, not the least of which is golf, thanks to our array of award-winning courses.”

Hiking, mountain tubing, kayaking, snorkeling, horseback riding, ATV adventures, aerial zip line rides, helicopter and boat tours, and golf are some the popular activities in Kaua’i.

Virtually all of the island’s golf clubs and affiliated resorts have recently undergone major expansions and refurbishments and are rated among the best in their category.
